What would you like to see to the 777 j seat?

Surely 1 2 1 seating with proper lie flats with each seat having aisle access and dine on demand is coming?

Clearly the 380 won't change too much although there are too many seats for a really exceptional service in my view.

2-2-2 would be a big improvement on current layout.
Given the competitive pricing EK offer in J (most of the time !) I am relatively happy with the product.
They set a high bar a few years ago and all the ME airlines are now surpassing them but I am certain that EK will take it to another level in the not too distant future.
If you ever have doubts about EK try BA J class !!

Definitely a 1-2-1 in the 777 and Dine on Demand. Also, PJ's in business class on longer flights.

Fully agree on all points, including the bit about 380 having too many J seats for exceptional service.

Yep, 2-2-2 would be good, not everyone is travelling with a companion so a wider gap in-between the seats would allow you to comfortably step over your new seat buddy should you not be travelling in two's and dont want to disturb them.

The 777 J seat is feels and looks old in terms of its design. Even if they maintained 2-3-2, I think there are several improvements they could make to the hard product to make it feel, and look, better.

I dont think 1-2-1 would work because on the 2 class versions, they can easily fill that cabin with 42 paying passengers however with less seats, less people so while it would be more comfortable, I dont think they would go for half the amount of seats, unless you can find a way to fit 42 seats into the business cabin in a 1-2-1 layout.

It might be slightly less seats but won't be much less because as you say most 777 go full in j.

Just be glad there's no more deeply declining (on the ER's at least!!)

Besides hardware upgrades to J class seats. I hope they will also up the quality of food (mains and snacks). Would love to have some options of Japanese, Thai or Chinese food on all flights.

Foods crap in all classes weakest part if Ek bar none.

Middle seat in j is a joke too

Switch to the A380 style seat, dine on demand, update the amenity kit and provide pajamas in J.

No one needs pjs my wife's moaning about how many we have. Amenity kit is one of the best what more do you need. Got loads of those of you want some?!?

Hard product (the seat) is what needs updating! I like the j seat just not the fact I have to climb over someone on a 777. A380 is too big in j service is slow.

Just because you have too many pajamas doesn't mean no one else wants them. Qatar and Qantas provide pjs in business. Don't take them if you don't want them.

The amenity kit is very nice but an update every once in awhile is nice so that you have some variety instead of having multiples of the same one.

The A380 style seat would eliminate having to climb over anyone, wouldn't increase the number of passengers and would make seating consistent across the fleet.

However, and I totally appreciate why one would like to have free PJs given on board because everyone likes a freebie and they are quite nice to have, but if it is such an important part of the travelling experience, why would you not bring your own? Is it not unlike passengers bringing their own noise-cancelling headsets instead of the airline-issued one?

Wouldn't the money spent on giving out frankly disposable (to the airline) pyjamas be better spent on things like investing in new hard product or catering? After all if the pyjamas cost 5 USD, that would be a significant uplift on the catering budget...!

As to the amenity kit, I agree a cosmetic refresh should be in order every so often, if only for the marketing.
