It's on the illuminated sign that says if the lavs are free or occupied.

The crew are also supposed to tell J pax on the A380 that the lavatories are at the back by the bar/galley at their initial greeting. However, regular A380 J passengers on this forum will tell you how variable the service on the A380 is...!

To be fair I don't see signs in the lav which mentions "to be used exclusively for F class passengers." I have been in the J class on A380 for 5 times and never saw such a sign indicating J-class lav are located at the back of the plane...... So to be scolded by the crew when, unknowingly, you try to use the lav in the front is just unethical.

Do those in J that think it's ok to use the toilets in F also agree that Y passengers should also be able to use the toilets that are in in J and F?

I flew with EK in rear A330 business class cabin from DXB to VCE where 20 min before landing I was waiting in galley for lav a minute when member of cabin crew walked with me to F class front lav next to cockpit.
I think that there is not such a problem C class passenger using F lav because C and F lavs have similar amenities (Perfume,...) But there they should not allowed Y class passenger to use premium class lavs. |

Gentlemen,
seriously? Next time you see masses of people living under a tarp (and I guess you'll be sitting in a comfy F or J seat on a flight coming in for landing at e.g. New Delhi Airport) please use 2 solemn seconds to remember the contributions you made in this thread for the benefit of people who are faced with real trouble such as Y pax using J lavs. |

................................................ I think F toilets for F, ad J for J. I don't see why anyone in J feels they should be able to use F facilities, whether that's the toilets, bar, food etc. You pay for F, you get F facilities; you pay for J, you get J facilities. ... and to confirm, this is from the perspective of a J flier. You pays your money, and makes your choice ........ Simple  |
oh well...

Simple   did you ever bother to actually READ my initial post?? i never said i ( or my wife, for matter). were entitled to use F facilities; but just asking whether the smallish loo between row 4 and 6 is solely for F or not, easy as that... and Dave, yes, the FA told this to my wife in a rude manner; sound and words were utterly unpolite. |
nice....

Not sure I agree with this.

As for my comments,..... as the thread had expanded from your initial post (its a forum after all) with some expressing their opinion that F should be used if not in use, my comments would be on topic, as I was given my personal opinion (though granted, mine alone, and which might not be shared by others), that F facilities are for F fliers, J facilties for J fliers, (and I should have added, Y for Y). Whilst you obviously don't agree with my opinion, you can't throw out posts not to your liking (I did notice you haven't thrown a tantrum about the posts, that went away from your initial question, but did agree with you that you should have access). As for the "this is from the perspective of a regular F flyer" comment. My comment was to ensure no-one thought I was someone who sat in F trying to protect my little kingdom..... yours.... well, haha, it made me laugh at least :D But, back on topic, and back to your initial post, do I think the FA should have been rude when speaking to your wife? Certainly not. But if your attitude shown in this post is anything to go by..... |

Well sorry, I would have thought you would have realised that you answered your question in your initial post. You were informed that the toilets were part of F.

As for my comments,..... as the thread had expanded from your initial OP (its a forum after all) with some expressing their opinion that F should be used if not in use, my comments would be on topic, as I was given my personal opinion (though granted, mine alone, and which might not be shared by others), that F facilities are for F fliers, J faculties for J fliers, (and I should have added, Y for Y). Certainly not. But if your attitude shown in this post is anything to go by..... apart from the fact that i do not accept anybody being snotty when talking to my wife, my point was that in quite a few aircrafts there is a loo in the front of one's seat behind a curtain, hence my question. write this down: i have never demanded anything not entitled to; trying to put me in the DYKWIA corner is cheap and, if meant as an offence, wasted on me... |
Being rude is never professional. This said, rudeness is a subjective feeling. This said, it is not professional to have a client feeling subjected to verbal abuse.
Anyway, we must admit that the F-section in EK388 is not clearly indicated. Some airlines put a different color curtain, some even put chains with a sign (similar to EK's cockpit). Moreover, the lav sign is not clearly showing that you have to make a U-turn. The arrows go left and right ... and "aft" is not a word commonly taught during english-classes ! And, seriously, we don't really expect to find lavs that far ... Now, when paying F, it's very irritating to find occupied lavs, moreover by a lousy J. DYKWIA ? :p |
