My apologies for misreading, as I never experienced an op-up in my life. Well, let's hope there is a vacant seat for mileage upgrades upon check-in

$200 seems really expensive for KWI-DXB. As a comparison, I got an offer to upgrade COK-DXB (4.5 hours) for $350, which I thought was an okay deal, and DXB-SFO on the A380 (15 hours) for $1000, which I thought was a great deal. Not sure how much the upgrade offer dollar amounts vary on the same route - this was my first time getting them.

$200 from KWI - DXB is indeed overpriced, not to mention I have enough miles to get upgraded on that flight. That offer of $1000 to get an upgrade from DXB - SFO was extremely reasonable, and I hope you enjoy your flight

Hopefully I get good offers like yours in the future (I wish they offered me the upgrade from DXB - KUL rather than KWI - DXB )

Seems to be fairly wide open at the moment. Not a seat taken from row 16-26.

Thanks a lot I was told that schools holidays started yesterday , so I fear that the airport will be crowded tomorrow so I'm still considering that $200 upgrade offer just to avoid the hassle of pre-screening and immigration counters

It is entirely possible if you hang on to the offer for too long if you do decide to take it it may not be available anymore.

Took the offer and upgraded to business class

Kuwait Airport is insanely crowded (just dropped my family there for their trip)

It looks like that I will not have to deal with EK/QR for a long time, as a new competitor is in town and is rising to compete with global carriers. It becomes better as not only this airline is a "dry" airline (serves my purpose as a Muslim,) but also offers me direct flights as opposed to transit. ^

I'm surprised that EK doesn't say the traveling prayers on its flights as opposed to EY, QR, and KU

The gift that keeps giving indeed !

And I wonder does this "new competitor in town "Kuwait Airways" have any connection to the "Kuwait Airways" which has been in town for around fifty years or so .....

Either way, do hope they carry a wide range of hand lotions onboard. You just never know when they might be needed.........

I am so happy aceboy has found his perfect match. I wonder how long the honeymoon will last given previous short lived romances with other airlines!

"It looks like that I will not have to deal with EK/QR for a long time"

Please let's hope and wish that this is indeed the last we will shall see of HRH "lotiongate" unfortunately methinks not.

On the grapevine I did hear the DXB Mgmt are installing vats of Cle de Peau Beaute hand lotion every 25 metres in all concourses "just in case"
