CDG - CMB Help needed

Hi, I am amazed at the knowledge base that these forums show.

My wife & I are on a special trip for our wedding anniversary and would like any advice / help on seat selection in order to make this a perfect trip.

We are on EK76 on 2 Feb (CDG - DXB) and EK654 on 3 Feb (DXB - CMB)

returning EK655 (CMB - DXB) 19 Feb and EK71 (DXB - CDG)

We are travelling in Business Class.

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to everyone!

I just took 655 last week but in F. its a standard 777ER. Im no expert on business class seating but now that you know its a 77W, go to the thread about best places to sit, look for 77W with 8F suites and then look under biz class....youll find your answer there

On the A380 (EK 76 & 71) select the E&F seats, which are ideal for couples travelling together. These, however, do not provide a view (but the lavs in the back do!). Whether you are closer to the front or closer to the bar (in the back) is more of a personal choice.

EK 654 on Feb 2 is currently showing as a 3-class 77W (first class suites).

EK 654 on Feb 19 is currently showing as a 3-class 773 (first class sky-cruiser seat, same standard J seats as with above flight but with older ICE IFE).

Note that aircraft type can change...

Some prefer being in the forward min-cabin although there is risk that row 7 window is mis-aligned while others like the row 8 bulkhead. The port/left side of the plane (A&B) will typically give you a view of downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa on take-off if that's of interest.

There are a fair amount of discussions on the "best seat" if you search the flyer talk forums (best done via google).

Thank you both very much, very helpfull.

I don't suppose you know when the check in and lounge open at Paris CDG. Our train gets in at 1600 but the flight is not until 2100!

There are 3 flights a day from CDG to DXB (10am, 2:30pm and 9:15pm), so the lounge will have definitely been open... but I can't tell you if the lounge closes between the afternoon and evening flight. Odds are in your favor, though.

Business Class, in my opinion, is EK's weakest class-of-service. Certainly, it will be far better than Economy, but compared to EK's rivals, the Business Class seats are not that competitive with the more favorable 1x2x1 configuration that some of EK's rivals already offer.

Would you consider upgrading to First in at least one direction? EK has a solid F product on A380, A340-500, and select 777 aircraft equipped with Suites. However, the F cruiser seats/non-suites aren't worth the premium.

I like eK j but after having done a few sectors in f I think there is a big difference. I really like the dine on demand feature, means I can concentrate on drinking then sober up before landing.
