I am trying to book a fare from DXB-USM return for February and having big problems. When I punch in my dates I get the flight I want on the way out (EK374 and PG119) but on the return it only gives me the option of going via Singapore with USM SIN leg in business and it comes out at 17,625 AED!

I spoke to EK and they said that Bangkok have no availability hence it wont price via BKK which I can kind of understand, however If I then try a multi leg booking choosing the same outbound and a return from BKK only the system wont price a fare at all and I get an error saying sorry we are unable to price the requested flights. Please try different dates.

If I try booking from the UK the flights I want are also available and are pricing fine so there must be some availability.

Any ideas? EK just keep saying BAngkok air have no availability.

Quite annoying as I need to do this trip quite often and don't want to book separate fares through each airline.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Book a separate fare!

I would prefer to avoid that to avoid going through immigration at BKK which can be a nightmare, plus it means having to reclaim baggage and check back in, causing a much bigger delay. Usually we travel with hand luggage only but these will be business trips so likely I will need to take checked in luggage.

I did the journey this way a few weeks ago having read on EK website that they do have an interline agreement, however I wasn't able to check in for the BKK USM flight at DXB, however we could check in for the BKK DXB leg from USM. Fortunately we only had hand luggage.

Having done the journey several times in the past and also, being able to price up portions of it, as well as even being able to choose USM as an option seems to suggest that there is some kind of internal error. If they no longer for whatever reason did a through fare to USM then surely a) USM should be removed as an option from the website, b) it wouldn't be able to be priced from the UK and c) wouldn't be able to priced on the outbound from DXB with a return from SIN

Emirates does have fares listed for DXB-USM , so I would suggest just phoning reservations and booking over the phone. Hopefully it will auto price for the agent or, failing that, can get ticketing department to sort it out

If it is simply that there is no availability in the required booking class , then book it separately
