First Name / last name interchanged on Emirates

Hi ,

I am flying on Emirates , Stockholm - Bangalore ( Via Dubai ) . I have a long stop over ( 22 Hours ) . I got the Hotel booking from airlines .

Now the problem is with my wife ticket . First name and last name got interchanged . but no spelling mistakes or anything .

i haven't done anything yet , What is your view on this ? this will create any problem ?

Regards
Prakash K

Wow
Ive just got off the phone with emirates after 4 days of conversation ( not non stop ) re a very simular problem .
They have my middle name as my surname . I dont think this is my mistake but they say it is. The funny thing is i did not get an email on the 17 dec when i booked and this has only become apparent when i wrung to find out why 4 days ago .
But they say it is my fault and wanted to charge me a whole new ticket price 890 ( original 535 ) even said there is no seats on the day i'm supposed to be flying out ( "yes there is the one i'm booked in ") but no . Any how after pleading with them and 2 hours on the phone they have changed it for 100 i still think they are wrong .
Top it off i am a skywards member and did not log on to book it but did enter it into the frequent flyer box. My advise is ring them asap ! and good luck .

I spoke to them , they said it will not be a problem , ( They assured that emirates will not question you anything ) ... Might be a problem during Immigration ... but if i want to change the ticket , they will charge me whole ticket charge (like new ) ...

I still Hope that , only interchanging the names example ,MR Kandasamy/Prakash instead of MR Prakash/Kandasamy wouldn't get much attention .

this was the reply from travel agency !!

Emirates put the remark on the reservation that names are correct . Also they advised that

online check in should be OK but if any problems , go directly to Emirates desk as you have plenty of time to do it.

So the advise directly to you was the same , that we don’t have to issue new ticket if spelling otherwise is correct.

Hi

Should not be a problem as I assume EK put a check-in remark in the booking so EK will not be a problem. Other point is the immigration but should be a problem as well.

People are always asking too many questions. Agents are barely capable of reading a passport, in my experience. if you check in online for sure NOBODY will ask any questions.
