To those of you using the EK iPhone app - when you load your profile you have the option of uploading a photo to your profile. To those of you who have done that, is that then shown on the purser's tablet manifest/information display? A little research project for those of you golds and platinums and F pax who get to see the purser next time

Well, I found it quite interesting that their app would even ask for a profile pic - what would be the point, unless the point was "customer engagement" and so, have customers take a profile pic, circulate that around the group. Heading to a lounge, you get picked up on camera, "welcome Mr. xxxxx", or on the plane, to make sure they really do know who you are...!

Now, considering that EK have lax, lax electronic security (passwords I think are still saved in plaintext as they are able to recover them directly, not reset them) this could, well...go badly. Just think of the amount of ahem, inappropriate, pics that could be circulating...I mean some people might change their pics *to* an inappropriate picture if they knew an attractive purser or SFS would be looking, haha!

I bet the moment it ever goes live it'll get shut down very quickly

Security issues aside. Quite interesting to have this option.

But I just wonder if you put someone else's profile what's going to happen?

FA: Good afternoon Mr/Ms xxxxx (take a look at ipad)...... errrr... can I see your Passport and boarding pass?

It's probably emirates just trying to be all hip and social media savvy. Someone in the design team probably said "hey we need a profile picture thing on the app and let's figure out what to do with it later" * he hopes as can't seem to change the picture*!
