Is this possible?
Hey everyone,
So I'm flying my regular JFK-DXB-HYD next month, but I just found out that I have to be in SIN around the same time. I was wondering if I could turn my JFK-HYD into a stop over (JFK-DXB on 12/20, DXB-HYD on 12/26) and then just book a DXB-SIN rt separately in between those days. I would pretty much land in DXB from JFK then go to the transit counter to get my SIN bp.
Would the system allow this? Since I would technically still be in transit from my JFK-HYD itin? And I can't cancel and rebook the JFK-HYD to JFK-SIN because it is the return part of a roundtrip ticket.
Thanks in advance!

Yes. In fact I have done this out of JFK and they will even check your luggage all the way to your final destination on your DXB-SIN ticket as long as your transit time is "reasonable".
My example:
Ticket 1: JFK-DXB (Stop over for 2 weeks) -CMB
Ticket 2: DXB-KWI
Checked in at JFK, had a printout of both e-tickets and presented it to the check in agent asking to check me in all the way to KWI using both tickets. After approval from the duty manager, I was presented with a BP for the onward flight, and luggage tagged all the way to KWI
I have had it denied out of KWI going back though on so be wary of this.
Ticket 1: KWI-DXB
Ticket 2: DXB-CMB (original JFK one from above)
Ticket 3: CMB-DXB-KWI
Ticket 3 was denied and they stated that they can not check in a CMB passenger. Online check in in the lounge sorted that out since CMB is part of the EK stations that allow for paper BP's.
