just came from nbo.

there's no lounge, there's a separate area for biz/first + gold pax with limited catering (meat skewers, fish fingers, veg pies) and some drinks.

Comfortable enough seating? What about drinks?

Thanks for the reply

seating is the usual seats in the departure area for nbo - nothing special. i definitely wouldn't hurry to get to the airport for this. it's essentially the area where you sit before boarding with one part sectioned off for biz/first and elites.

for drinks looked like they had some wine and spirits, soda and water.

I don't have much choice - basically I'm arriving to the domestic airport about 11 for a 4.40 flight. I guess I need to hope for some bad traffic...

If it was me, and it was a few weeks ago, I'd rather spend the airport time at the cafe/restaurant. I find it more comfy and with better food, even if you have to pay for it. YMMV.

the domestic terminal is in the same airport, so there'll be zero traffic to get to the emirates terminal, unless you're flying into wilson airport.

i would advise going to ole sereni a hotel very very close to the airport for lunch and drinks. it's very nice and you might be able to spot some game before you head back to the airport.

I'm flying into wilson. Anyone recommend any good transfer companies?

I've heard of ole sereni, think I may stop the night at the fairmont as I have a night in nbo before the flight to masi mara in the way in...

the taxi service i prefer in nairobi is absolute cabs. reliable and reasonably priced.

i'm from nairobi, but have had lunch/dinner and both fairmont and ole sereni. both are very nice.

Thanks that's incredibly helpful. Basically I need to go nbo to the fairmont to wilson then wilson to nbo so will get them to quote for it.

Kind regards

Phil

Is it safe? I m pretty scared about NBO mainly down to its bad reputation.

I'm going to Mhuli Mzhuri so I'm very excited to see the amazing animals.

it is safe, like any big city you need to be street savvy (don't carry flashy valuables etc), but if you go during the day you'll be fine.

the things to see outside the city center - like giraffe center and david sheldrick are absolutely safe - there'll be very many tourists there

That's how it was when i passed through NBO - it was early April, however....

I guess the airport needed a major overhaul which is taking time....

Is there any lounge at NBO yet or still the same cordoned off area in the boarding gate? I have a 3 hour transit there (KQ->EK) tomorrow in Business.
