Is Luggage Allowance Transferable

My wife and I are flying business to the Seychelles the week after next and have a luggage allowance of 30 KG each. Would be allowed to take 3 cases each of 20 KG between us, or would the third case have to be assigned to one of us effectively meaning 40 KG and 20 KG? I guess they will have to assign the third case to one of us, but in terms of the limits can they / will they show some discretion?

Transferable may not be the correct word to use. But yes, the 60 kgs are 'shared' between the two of you, so you can carry 3 bags weighing 20 kgs or whereabouts.
