I don't think so.
My flight to HKG is 1 in F J is going to go out quite full and Y is most likely over. They are still offering 2 Z seats (came up yesterday). That said ex MAN they didnt release until check in despite F being quiet.
I think you just need to keep waiting, upgrading J to F on the A380 is usually not a problem, Y to J on the other hand....

Also 2 Z DXB-MRU. This is more tempting, but is a 777-300. Problems, problems...

. ). If I had the choice I'd go 380 mru has frequent swaps and the 773 is not worth an upgrade. When I'm in suites I don't bother with the bar generally.

I think the OP is asking about a miles upgrade. Emirates don't usually offer upgrades for free just because you ask. They are given to passengers with status (and rightly so)
