Arrow Can my Emirates flight earn miles on United, Delta or American?

Looks like I'll be flying Emirates for the first time en route to Africa. It's a lot of miles. I have accounts with the big three in the U.S. -- Delta, American and United -- but they don't seem to partner with any of them. Thoughts?

was thinking of Ethihad when I posted this.
"Credit to Air Berlin or Iberia and use on AA!"

Catharsis; Thanks for correcting me.

I don't think Emirates credits to either of these - were you thinking of Etihad?

If I am incorrect I'd certainly be interested but I can find no evidence e.g. at http://www.airberlin.com/en-GB/site/...ndex.php?cid=3

The best way is to look at the partner airlines that can credit to Emirates FFP. Then look at those airlines FFP to check if miles earning from an Emirates flight is reciprocal. It usually is. But be careful about the booking class as some low cost fares can earn low or miles

Alaska is probably best and AS is partner with AA & Delta. Will depend on you miles balance & status with AA, UA & DL

This may be of interest http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...help-here.html

Regarding Jet Blue - you only earn points, not status-earning points. Friend found out the hard way. Not sure about the others.

You can earn status earning miles if crediting Emirates to Alaska Airlines, but some lower economy fares earn only 50%.

Following up on the posts above, has anyone compiled a definitive list of ff programs to which you can credit miles flown on Emirates metal?

Thanks.

I would assume that every airline on which you can credit their partner flights to Skywards has as reciprocal arrangement with Emirates (apart from Easyjet).

That is usually the case with airline ffp's, but not always. Some ffp's can burn, but not earn. You need to check carefully including if an eligible fare booking class.

Indeed - one should always check one's own program rules rather than relying on anything the partner says!

Also, with the new fare changes coming in in Feb for EK, I suspect most discount economy fares will start to earn 0%...

EK generally doesn't have many partnerships of course and no memberships of alliances, so I think the list above is likely to be exhaustive as EK doesn't want to be buying points all over the place!
