A6-EDP

Just FYI A6-EDZ has been involved in an incident at YYZ, a/c was taxiing onto stand and by all accounts the bridge was in the wrong place so the aircraft taxied into the bridge damaging no 2 engine.
Still currently in YYZ

I think the aircraft involved is A6-EDZ; A6-EDP was sent empty to YYZ to rescue the passengers.

A6-EDZ also had some troubles on the first EK flight to LGW.

EK seems to regularly send spare airframes to recover these situations rather than use other carriers or spare capacity. There are three alone on the current front page of The EK Source (Dammam, Toronto and Bangkok).

Is this true across other airlines, or if not, why the differences?

I could think of the alliance airlines getting a better deal on each others' flights but not sure if this is true or not.
