Well said. The OP needs a serious reality check. I mean, EK Cabin Crew can't tell passengers not to recline their seats during flight and further, EK offers more leg room in Y than other airlines.
However, it is widely accepted that manners, etiquette, courtesy (there will be other words along the same lines) that dictate you raise it during meal service, which is what the thread has evolved to discuss. |
Thank you, that really sums up in a sentence what I meant.

Yeah, but they had put their 'do not disturb' sticker on their chair so the cabin crew said nothing to them.
I was really polite saying look, would you mind, it is almost impossible for us to eat properly could you just adjust your seat for half an hour or so' But no. what part of "do not disturb" was it you did not understand ? |
Never flying Emirates again
Alot of faux politeness around these days. When people don't get their own way or see the other persons point of view it all gets alot less polite! The whole point of being polite is living with the consequences if someone doesn't reciprocate or is rude back. The true test is to simply take it one the chin as it were.

Haha! Funny. My post of view is one you don't agree with. So we can agree to disagree but there is no need to try and belittle my point of view by casting me as the villain. I happen to think it is ok to put your seat back. You prefer people to wake the DnD labeled sleeper so you can eat in more comfort. That's all it is. Don't try to personalise and make it into more than it is. I think it is dis courteous by the way not un.

Not me doing the casting or personalising, it's the majority of travellers and airlines views as can be verified with a browse on this website.
I'm merely reiterating this widely held view which your personal preference is to ignore. Please ignore any grammer, spelling literacy etc faults in this post. Somehow they're not my highest priority. |
Folks, lets avoid going "tit for tat" here...its starting to get a little like listening to my 10 year old daughter arguing with her older brother over something minor...
I dont think the OP is coming back so maybe we should all just move on...;) |
Never flying Emirates again
Noted 8B. But for the record don't agree with Ft101's summation of the facts at all!
|
How about closing this thread? There are people who obviously have zero manners which is winding up others who appreciate manners and the thread is going nowhere but down really.

Never flying Emirates again
Manners good or otherwise is not bowing to the views of the perceived majority. This is a debate and the personal issues aside, should be conducted in an open manner where people can express their POV. Having said that I agree this thread had run it's course we are not going to get any further on this issue and as 8B said, Seems the OP isn't coming back! So peace to all! Lets recline on it or not as the case may be!
