Booking problem/prevention?
Hey everyone. I'm on a trip, have been travelling since January 10th.. my first Emirates experience was amazing. Now, next flight is in 8 days. I just checked the booking, on the Emirates site. We are 5, flying in J. We had seats assigned (row 7). Now when i just checked, it says i still have them assigned, but on the select seat map, there is only up to row 6 in J. But it still says i have the seats 7 assigned. Its weird, but now I'm worried that they changed the plane to a two-class metal, and I will loose the seats I had assigned for months.. Row 1 is unoccupied, I can select 5 seats there (the flight is almost full), but when i choose it, it says that its a baby bassinet area, so upon check in, a person with a baby might take my seats.. should i still get it? or keep my row 7 seats? thanks for the suggestions in advanced!!

It 100% sounds like a change from a 3 class to a 2 class. I've had a couple of them in the past few months, and also been in Row 7 which sticks to the booking until you go in and change it. Row 7 just doesn't exist at all on the 2 Class B777s.
Your lucky you noticed it at least a few days in advance and have the opportunity to select other seats.
I would select Row 1 and risk the bassinet not being required. Alternatively, could you split your party in two and choose two smaller groups of seats?

EDIT:
According to FlightRadar, the planes that have been flying this route (HKT-DXB) for the past days, are 3 class 77w's.... weird..

You should keep an eye on it, daily if need be, just in case it changes back, but I would think it unlikely based on my (limited) experience.
My one (EK25 on 5/1/14) was the only day in January when it was changed over so you can't only go by the history.

he told me we have seats in row 3 selected.. but in my online reservation, on emirates site, it says I still have the ones on row 7 (which don't exist in J on the 2 class 77w)... now the plane shows full in J.. should i go early to the airport? or do you think i have the row 3 as my travel agent says, and emirates' site is bugged or something?
