DUB to SGN 2 class question?
Hi,
I am just picking between Eithad and Emirates at the moment for trip from DUB to SGN but I am concerned at the plan choice with emirates it seems to be a 777-200 2 class with deep reclining seats for 7 hour flight? Can anyone advise me what these are as I have never experienced it only J on 777-300, 777-300ER and A380
Is there any chance by May Emirates might have got rid of these old aircraft?
Thanks,

PtP - The demand for F is not there. Just like MNL, although I suspect if they were to offer F to MNL there would be an uptake. However that would mean a loss of 76 YC seats and at times these flights are overbooked by excess of 30 pax in Y so whilst I sympathise thats just the way it is.
In terms of 77W 2 Class which have seats just like 77W 3 class I don't personally find them that bad to sleep in although I am a back sleeper and akin referred to as a pencil due to my height and weight.
Edit: Just re-read the post and sorry I misunderstood it as 77W. Ignore me

I think EK uses these 772s on routes where this isn't much competition. On the SGN route it only really competes with EY while most other routes have multiple competitors.
Another possibility is that the SGN route isn't as high yielding as some others on which EK uses their best products.
On the other hand perhaps a 773 is just too big and a 332/343/345 is just to small!
In the OP's case, I would call it a no brainer. EY has much nicer connections in AUH for this route than EK does.

My worst Emirates experiences (even with opups) are on this (3 return trips a year) route but I keep flying it to add to my status miles. It is truly awful -last time (no opup) I had a broken seat and got moved but thr replacement was uncomfortable and the food inediblt (ended up getting 15000 miles compensation). If you don't need the miles to get staus then avoid (was much better when they had the a330 on the route). J is better but not worth the price or miles.

You can fly to bkk and get an internal flight if you don't like the 772. I flew on it when it was the 330 and I paid nearly 4k, got new j on one leg... Which was man dubai, the rest was old, so be thankful it's one leg and a day flight.

How do you do an internal flight from Thailand to Vietnam?
