Online Check-In
Hey people, I can now do the Online check in to my very first Emirates Flight. According to Expert Flyer, the flight will be 100% full in J and 100% empty in F. Not saying i have big chances on getting an upgrade.. but.. i guess there are very few?..
I was wondering if chances would go to 0 (zero) if i did the web check in tonight, since i would already have the ticket?
My flight tomorrow (10th) departs at 9.30pm my time (its 10pm now), so the web check in is open.. but my connecting flight departs at 3am of the 12th.. so the web check in shouldn't be open..
Does that mean i should do the check in for that flight tomorrow at the airport?
Sorry for the (noob) questions, but its the first time flying EK and flying with so big time differences..

There have been various discussions as to whether doing a web check-in changes your chance of an upgrade with no firm conclusion one way or another.
I tend to side with the view that if you've checked in online, the airline can be more confident that you will travel and may upgrade you based on this. Someone who hasn't checked in may turn out to be a no show and if they are upgraded in advance then more work is required if/when they don't turn up.
Regarding your second flight, if it's on the same PNR as your first, then you will be able to check in at the same time as your first, even it's > 24 hours to take off. This is certainly the case for me although my time differences are not as large as yours.

I can just add, yes, it happens that you have on-line check-in and still got the upgrade.
So the chances are higher then 0, but no idea if it increases or decreases probability....
Anyway, if you do online check-in you are able to use "on-line checked" counter at the airport, usually it helps to avoid the queue.

thanks for the replies! I didn't end up doing the online check in. I went to the airport and nothing. When the boarding was being announced, we went to EZE's gate, and then we saw 3 people getting a J-F upgrade. Apparently they were plats. It was reasonable since we were 5 people flying J, don't think they would have upgraded us all. Anyways, the flight was awesome!! The EZE-GIG part wasn't that great, mostly because the ICE was not working and the FA was very very bad (every time i asked something (like the food) he would sigh.. weird as i was expecting lodes of smiles.. but he was argentinian (so am i, and i know some are not very nice). Anyways the rest was great.. the food amazing and i slept a lot. Now i have a 4 hour wait here at the J class lounge and taking my first a380 to PEK. Still hoping for a call, for the upgrade?

Didn't happen because the flight was full (yeah right, just because of that :P). But the flight was really good in J, I got lucky and it was one of the new a380's, a6-EEH. Awesome first experience, and hope many more to come!.

Brand spanking new mothership, it was beautiful. Even in Y

.I love the new handsets though, they are so much thinner and less clunky than the old ones which took up too much space on the side.
