Does transferring miles reset the expiry date?

Not a cheap option at $25 per 1000 (purchase is $40 per 1000) but if the miles are otherwise about to expire and be entirely lost, justifiable if the expiry date is reset.

Apologies in advance for bumping, but can't believe after 190 views I'm still none the wiser. Miles expire midnight tomorrow so hoping for an answer.

Sorry I am not sure. I think they do reset. But please let someone else ask or speak to Emirates via this live chat link http://www.emirates.com/uk/english/h.../phone-us.aspx .. opens in 11 hours.

Looks like they will reset, if I am reading the above correctly.

I suppose it makes sense if you are paying for them to be transferred.

Thanks to jamjuruk. Looks like it does reset the expiry date. Genuinely tried to look for this before but without luck. From the website FAQs:

How long are transferred Miles valid for?

Transferred Skywards Miles are valid for a minimum of 3 years from the date of transfer and will expire at the end of the receiving member’s month of birth on the third year.
