When to Buy Cheapest Ticket?

Hello,

I'm flying Delhi-Dubai-JFK and JFK-Dubai-Delhi. Obviously want to fly the A380!

The first flight will take place on September 1/2 and the second on December 21/22.

I want to try and stopover in Dubai for 2-3 days on the way back and about 1-2 days on the way there.

Is it cheaper with a stopover/lengthy layover (8 hours) or is it cheaper without any layover?

Also, I have 22,000 miles, what can I do with those?
When is it the most opportune time to buy the ticket?

Thanks,
Crazysah

Set up a price alert on one of the many price sites such as Kayak.

As for the miles, you don't specify what class of travel you will be in but 22,000 would potentially get you an upgrade for one of the DEL - DXB legs availability permitting.

Well, I'm flying economy and an upgrade from DEL-DXB isn't worth it when it is only a 3 hour flight. Unless that gets me lounge access at DXB for the 8 hour layover?

It will not. Lounge access driven by departing flight class of travel or programme status. You would need to be Silver or above to get any kind of lounge access at DXB if departing on a flight in Economy.

No it won't get you lounge access at DXB - for that you need to upgrade the DXB-JFK leg.

Best leg to upgrade will be the DXB-DEL. I do agree that its only a 3 hr flight but it will give you lounge access at DXB and chauffeur drive at both DEL (on arrival) and a chauffeur pick up at DXB(if you are stopping over)

Best use of 12500 miles( if you are on a flex Y ticket )
