E-Gate & changing card

Hi Guys,

I just turned Gold last week, and I just have my Silver card with me. I'll stop in Dubai for the night next Friday.

Is it worth to register for E-Gates, and then transfer it to my Gold card when I'll get it ?

I say just wait for the Gold card then do it, you will just confuse them.

Or book Marhaba if you expect that there will be a long wait.

I have never spent more than 10 minutes in the line since T3 opened in late 2008 and I usually arrive at the busiest period. Since you are already Gold then irrespective of class of travel you are entitled to fast track immigration.

Really? I arrived at 6am once and was stuck in the 'fast track' line for 20 minutes! Turned out the 'normal' line next to me was actually faster.

That is exactly why I book Marhaba for my wife every time she comes back to Dubai because she cannot get an e-Gate card as one of our children is on her passport and visa.

I was lucky in fact, Fast Track + my Micro Scooter brought me before all the passengers of my A380... so I had only 2 people before me. Easy immigration at 10PM.
