Madrid route

We are flying into Madrid from Melbourne in a few weeks and wonder if anyone here has done that, or at least the Dubai to Madrid portion.
Being a new route, I was wondering how Emirates are going with this?

Economy is totally overbooked, especially MAD-DXB sector. The cabin turns into big fiesta

Overbooked pax are sent with Qatar airways. QR seems to have plenty of empty seets despite serving MAD for a few years already. But if you are flying out of VCE, you do not need to worry

So you are in MAD or DXB, and for the flight you paid is for is no room and they sent you to your destination via connection in DOH? No other compensation?

Dear Gigolo,
1. This topic is not about compensations. Who said the are no compensations? We are discussing here DXB-MAD-DXB route performance.
Regarding compensation and handling "Glight distruption" there are special rules of IATA and European Union - valid for all airlines.
2. Applying the above rules, you are not necessarily sent via DXB. For example - you are flying to MAD-Delhi with EK. You can end up flying to DOH with QR and onward to DEL with Air India. It happened all the time everywhere around the world

I don't' think there's a need to be touchy here. He's just asking a question. OT but still...

Dude, I am going off-topic because I want to understand what happens if the MAD route overperforms and thus results in a re-routing with other airlines via another destination as we were told by you.

No need to give us a lecture.

I see EK is using their B777-300ER on the DXB-MAD-DXB route, can anyone confirm that there are suites in F on this route?

Looking at the DXB-MAD portion for the next few weeks, it appears that there's not really anyway of me describing a trend for the loads. Some days, both flights completely full in all three classes, other days the exact opposite. Some days one flight is full while the other is empty, other days its the other flight thats full and the one is empty. Nice to see some strong F and J loads though.
