Hitting Platinum

Didn't think I would ask this question since I assumed it would be out of my reach but the extra trips I need to make this year mean I could get to ~120k around August.

What would be a good (read valuable) way to get the remaining 30k tier miles?

I am quite flexible in terms of where I could start the tier MR, I could go from AU/NZ and SIN, DXB, BEY/CAI, MUC/FRA, and JFK.

Have a look at SIN-AKL-SIN (via MEL or BNE). 22,000 tier miles in Flex Y, 38,500 in Flex J and 55,000 tier miles in First. Boom, you're done!

There is no other route on the EK network that offers so much bang for the buck, primarily because of the way EK counts miles for this sector. Also, I've seen F fares at $4K roundtrip, and you just can't beat that.

Thanks for that. I'd expect JFK-MXP will offer something similar? 29.75k for a round trip in J isn't that bad either.

For AKL runs:
Note the long transit times in MEL (about 22 - 23 hours each way).
BNE has a 7 hour transit, around midnight to 7am IIRC.

Did 2 runs on this to get my EK gold 2 years back. Hit Gold on the way there, op uped on the way back. Lol

Second year I renewed on cheap F mistake fares and CMB fares.

Hi All

Are the AKL- SIN runs still valid ?

Tried a few days in Dec & Jan to make up my quota but they're not returning the previous 11kish Tier Miles

Thanks in advance for any help !

They were valid for me a few weeks ago (flex fares).

Fares ex CPT or JNB can often be quite cheap such as to GIG, EXE or possibly LAX. But they are long flights and so aren't as good as SIN-AKL.
