Obtaining UAE Visa

My cousins particular passport cannot apply for a Dubai visa through "Manage Existing Booking" on Emirates.com. I think I can make a visa through a hotel but I dont really want to go through that as they're staying with friends in Dubai.

How else can I get her a visa?
Also, what kind of visa is required for 1 week stay? Transit or tourist visa?

AFAIK the following are the options:

Transit visa is no good for you as I believe they are for 96 hours only.
Tourist visa is one month (sometimes 14 days) and obtained through travel agents or hotels.
Visit visa is one or three months and obtained through sponsorship by citizen or resident.

Hi all,

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I am in the process of arranging a visa for my cousin, she is travelling MAN-DXB-MAN and lands in dubai on the 13th and leaves on the 16th therefore less than 96hrs. I am arranging her visa via MMB. The vfs system automatically chooses the transit/96hrs option.

It seems logical for the system to choose that particular visa as she will be in dubai for less than 96hrs, she wont technically be transiting onward to another destination. I remember reading a thread recently where someone got denied entry as he/she had a transit visa and instead required a tourist visa.

Will she be allowed entry with the transit/96hrs visa?

That should be fine. I have done a visit to DXB on a ticket AMM-DXB-AMM and received a transit visa. No problem entering the country.

On that visit, I arrived Monday 16h00 and departing flight was scheduled for Friday 14h00, so 94 hours.
