Is it normal for such a small fare difference between C and F?

I need to book tickets for my parents in biz and so I looked up a rather complex booking with stopovers in DXB each way and the price came up to 7,266 SGD. Not exceptional but not too bad either. Then I decided to redo the same booking but choose all 4 flights in F and the price rose to 8,527 SGD, much less than anticipated.

Is this quite normal with Emirates, just approx. 17% more $$$ to fly F instead of C?

P.S. Brilliant web site I must add. ^ At least when it comes to looking up flights and getting stopovers sorted without any errors or crazy price hikes.

When you get a good deal just take it and don't question why!

Why is that? Flights EK433 and 404 (both 77W) seem to show Private Suite availability and there is also an A380 on the same route (but with rubbish hours I must add if someone is doing a stopover in Dubai).

Where is the destination?

It could be a route where there is a smallish percentage difference between cheapest business and cheapest 1st or
could have been that only a more expensive business fare was available and that the difference between the available fare and 1st was reduced or
the stopovers may have removed availability of the cheapest fare

SIN-DXB r/t is around 17% more from cheapest business to 1st , for example, whilst SIN-LON is about 35% more expensive

I'm looking at the SIN-DXB-WAW route, return. Actually it should be SYD-SIN-DXB-WAW with stop-overs at every step of the way, but the SYD-DXB part is giving me headaches and seems to be something that I need to arrange separately - probably on SQ.

The cheapest base 1st fare that EK offers on SIN-WAW is 35% more than the cheapest base business . Perhaps availability for the lowest business is not there which would explain only a 17% difference

Wow, I wish a 17%, or even 35%, J->F differential existed ex-USA. Usually it is a 100% - 200% differential. Just checked a random date JFK-DXB-RIY, $4,900 in J and $18,000 in F, only a 250%+ difference.

S$7k for a J fare ex-SIN is pretty expensive- EK usually does about 6k, with several airlines offering 4k during sales.

8,5k for F doesn't seem too bad though when J was going for 7.2k. SQ and LH both spike their prices much more for F compared to J.

It is not unusual for the price of most expensive C Fare to be similar to the least expensive F Fare.

However, the difference between the lowest C Fare and the lowest F Fare is higher:
