Skywards or another FF scheme??
I'm looking for suggestions on what scheme to join, myself and my wife will be emigrating from Scotland to Perth later in the year.
We will probably be using Emirates from Glasgow, Dublin (wife is from NI) or London after a shopping spree to Perth and wondering if the EK scheme would be the best suited to us?
We are bound to fly internal in Aus/close by for holidays, but we do not know how much yet. In the UK/Europe we mainly use BA or AirFrance.
We are looking to fly home to the UK at least once a year and Emirates seems the best being direct to Scotland or Ireland, but is it the best scheme to join?
We would mainly be looking to use points for upgrades on flights from Perth to the UK.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is there actually any other FF programme where you can send your EK miles to? I know that you can redeem with a number of (mostly asian) airlines, including TAP and EasyJet in Europe and JetBlue in the US.
The "double dipping" of miles (for the flight and for purchasing the ticket) is possible with all credit card reward schemes, and I think you should buy the ticket using your preferred credit card.
Personally, I collect EK miles on EK flights, Miles & More points on all credit card purchases and will most likely redeem my EK miles with TAP (the cooperation comes in handy as Mrs. Bruce desperately wants to visit Lisbon).
