Get to know our fellow EKers
After clarification with Eightblack, I decided it would be fun to get to know everyone on the Emirates Forum. We are quite a small community so I thought it would be nice to know the real people behind the alias names of FlyerTalk members. Don't feel obliged to post any information which you don't want to. Here are some topics to get started
1. Gender
2. Occupation (if it's a job which allows you to travel)
3. Reason for travel
4. Location
5. Favourite destinations (for exploration) or most visited (for job requirements)
6. Where you would like to visit in the future
7. Favourite plane/route
8. Best flight ever
9. Worst flight ever
10. Age (if you really, really want to)
I look forward to hearing from everyone on the EK board

Ok great, seems like the thread is coming along. Hopefully it can catch on. I'm told that there is a similar thread in the Community Forum, but I thought it would be nice to post one on our forum

Hello, Ex OW (BA) forum lurker. Used to take club world flights all the time, but since this year decided to give my pennies to EK.
Living in the UK, married and travel every year several times. Can't wait to fly emirates for the first time in April. 777 is the plane to fly with in my opinion. I love the EK forum for the fact that a thread can be on the first page for a good week at a time. On the BA forum you are lucky if it is there for 5 minutes.
I rather like the peace and quit on this forum^
Safe travels everyone

8. Best flight ever: ME218 (FRA-BEY) in Nov 2011 was allowed into the cockpit from top of descent until reaching the gate. Food out of FRA was great, had a whole row of J seats for myself. Plane still smelled like new.
9. Worst flight ever: EY533 (AUH-BEY) Nov 2012, chaos at boarding, longest bus transfer ever, full house in both cabins, got the last row in J right in front of a row full of infants in Y that kept crying throughout the flight (ear piercing cries as well), food was mediocre, rotten fruits at the end that perfectly balanced the taste, neighbouring passenger had flu and kept sneezing/coughing throughout the flight, half of J class passengers were coughing too, flight attendant spilled beer in row 3 on the floor giving us the good ol' beer stink for half of the flight, passenger across the aisle had personal tv on as well as his iPad AND his iPhone, someone from row 1 thought it was OK to stick his butt in my face for 2 frigging hours after the meal service to chat up with that hipster across the aisle from me. So yeah, can't imagine being any worse. I had stepped of from SYD-AUH in F with EY and my fingers were chapped because of an incident with chemicals back home. Being so exhausted, the last thing I needed were these beautiful surprises.

Favourite destinations (for exploration) or most visited (for job requirements): in no particular order they are SFO, DXB, BEY, AMM, MCT, DAM (sadly I suspect I shall never go there again).
6. Where you would like to visit in the future: Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq.
Favourite plane/route: 777 First Suite on EK is best; favourite route is any to BEY--I just love the final approach. Had some great times chatting to crew and fellow pax in the 380 lounge also.
Best flight ever : Lots in EK J and F. Crew so often seem glad to be there, esp. when you come across a purser who wants to chat in Arabic.
Worst flight ever: Several mediocre ones on AC. Revenue Js are persona non grata.
