Tell that to my American multinational employer...10 hours + gets you in J. That being said, there is discretion and if you're flying over night and going straight into a meeting you can go J.

To the OP, is there much difference in fare between the saver and flex fares? Sometimes the difference is minimal if you're already being booked into one of the higher saver classes so don't feel too guilty.

Frankly, given the amount of travelling I'm expected to do (in Y) I would not think twice if it helps me get status and therefore gives me lounge access which in itself leads to free food, free drinks, free wifi and it should increase upgrade chances. If you feel happier, you should be more motivated and more productive so employer should gain too in the long run Anyway...thats how I justify it to myself haha.
