A Few Questions
Hello,
I've booked my flight for the 21st of January with a return ticket on the 20th of May.
On the way I'm flying EK 515 from DEL-DXB and then EK 201 from DXB-JFK with a 8 hours and 45 minute layover.
Then on the way back I'm flying EK 204 from JFK-DXB and EK 514 from DXB-DEL with a 7 hours and 40 minute layover.
Fare details: DEL EK X/DXB EK NYC Q115.90 427.57TXBGPIN4 EK X/DXB 5END ROE54.447
The questions I have are the following:
1. Will I be getting a hotel stay during my layover?
2. How much does it cost to get into the lounge with either cash or miles?
3. How many miles will it cost to upgrade from economy to business class for only the DXB-JFK or JFK-DXB legs.
4. What are the good seats on the flights mentioned above?
5. Anything else I should know about this flight?

I only know the answers to questions 2 and 3, so here they are-
2. You can only get into the EK J lounge if you are in business class, or are skywards gold. I think you can pay to get into the marhaba lounge in DXB but I've never used it so I'm not sure.
3. To upgrade JFK-DXB or V.v, you would need 45,000 skywards miles each way, and there needs to be D class availability.
I hope I was able to help!

1) You will not get a hotel as you could have chosen EK203 (outbound) and EK512 or 516 (inbound) to minimise the layover time. If you choose to take a long stopover then you are not entitled to a hotel.
2) As above and also first class. Skywards Silver lounge may also have re-opened but I haven't seen a date for that yet.
3) Contrary to the above post, I see from your posting that you are on a Saver Fare and as such the upgrade would cost 57.500 miles one way from DXB-JFK or vice versa.
4) Exit row seats - arrive early at the airport to request these. Ask at the transit desk at DXB for the next leg.
5) Baggage allowance is different for itineraries to/from USA.

Thanks a lot guys. So,
1. the EK203 (outbound) and EK512 or 516 (inbound) were turning out to be much much more expensive. Any idea why? I just couldn't afford it. :/
2. I can't get into any lounge at all? No way for that?
3. Yes, saver fare. Was the cheapest. I did get extra miles though.
4. Exit row seats. I'll get there early and ask for these.
5. I know about the baggage allowance.

2. Pay to upgrade to business if you want Emirates lounge access. Or: https://www.marhabaservices.com/source/lounge.aspx
