I have a trip with three separate tickets, all business class, all purchased separately (separate mileage redemptions)

1. MLE->CMB on EK (paid ticket, $235 o/w business)
2. 2.5 hour layover in CMB
3. CMB->BOM on 9W (award ticket, united miles, business)
4. 3 hour layover in BOM
5. BOM->NBO on KQ (award ticket, skyteam RTW, business)

I'm planning to carry on 2 bags, but concerned that I might get hung up (GA saying they're too large). If that happens, I'll need to check them.

Could I interline on EK all the way through, even though they're separate tickets? 9W will not interline to KQ from CMB, but I'm thinking EK might take them all the way from MLE to NBO.

If I can't interline, I think I'll have to buy Sri Lankan and Indian visas, just in case I have to claim my bag along the way.... correct?

If entering Sri Lanka you will need to apply for a Visa but this transit Visa is free of charge.
(Visas for transit are classed as single entry for less than 2 days.)
