Upgrade Confusion
I used some miles to upgrade a friend as a surprise. Everything went smoothly online and I got a confirmation, miles were deducted etc.
This was yesterday.
Today, the miles are back. The booking still shows "business" and a seat is assigned but when I try to OLCI the pax it says
I am not sure what happened, but since the PAX has no idea what is going on I am scared he might be confused / annoyed / angry at me and may end up in Y anyway. Is this normal? Anything I can do?

Sorry, we are unable to process your online check-in request. Online check-in is only possible if an eTicket is attached to your booking. Your booking does not have an eTicket. You need to revalidate your booking in order to be able to check in online. Please contact your local Emirates office, or visit the Emirates ticket desk at your nearest airport.
