I was on EK793 DXB-LAD last week and was pleasantly surprised to find that that the entire AVOD system had been upgraded to a new system I had never seen before. Stop reading now if this is old news and I missed a major discussion on here about it!
I was in Business and the old touch screen controller had been replaced with a slick, slim and very responsive Ipad-like device. The interface was excellent and very responsive. The screens were also bigger (not sure about exact size) and great quality. Head and shoulders above any other airline I have ever flown. The aircraft was a 777-300ER.
I had not heard of any plans for a new AV system so I was pretty blown away.
Well done, EK, continuing to stay well ahead of the competition, certainly when it comes to inflight entertainment.

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that in F when you push the call button next to window shade controls it automatically calls the galley through the in-seat phone (Room service feature)? I only noticed this in the new system on the 777
