Note that the FCT at Frankfurt is not really for connecting passengers. There's nothing to stop you going there, but you'd have to clear immigration and customs, exit the terminal, and walk to the FCT.

The F lounge is just as nice, but you don't get the private car to the aircraft (unless it's at a remote stand).

Still torn between LH F and EK F

Thanks for all your comments. Still deciding. As I said prices close to same. Lufthansa from SFO to FRA is A380 which I have not tried. Connection to Doha is older style first class lie flat. Emirates is suites but the 777. It is however straight. To Dubai which is great. Was on their suites a few years ago when living in London and flying to Seychelles via Dubai. Emirates is tempting for the schedule and whole package, but don't know what to do for all those miles as I am in none of their programs. Lufthansa is tempting for the. A380. I do love their first class terminal but will probably just use lounge with connecting time. And I do like their service, caviar, and wines....and the miles. Since I don't fly yo Dubai frequently but could see it as good connecting point for many trips, I am really torn! Appreciate any specific comments!

LH F on the A380 is nothing special. It's the same as on their A346 and some other aircraft I think.
Take my advice and fly EK F.

Happy Flying,

Should I join their frequent flyer program? Emirates? Or transfer points to Alaska which has many partners even though I don't fly Alaska much.

Actually the seat and bed combo occur on a portion of the 747-400 Fleet located on upper deck. A380 and 748 have LH's new first seat......

Very true. I've done the new F in the nose of the 747-8I and it was wonderful.

But the plane is called 74H instead of 748 as that refers to Hawker Siddeley HS 748. The H for the new Boeing is used as H is the 8th letter in the alphabet.

Would love to do it again soon. I really love the LH F seat and ottoman. EK F usually has better service though.

And also, EK has true suites with doors while LH doesn't.
