And is currently operating EK9987. Cargo routing to CPH.
The post about it going to DWC was made after the 582/583 flights.

The aircraft now being used for cargo flights haven`t the seats removed like during the Covid....
An aircraft can be used for a cargo flight today and tomorrow for a regular pax flight.

Sadly A6-EBR continues with the cargo operation.
i hope they will retire that A6-EB* birds soon. |
It's unfortunate from the passenger's perspective. After all, the A6-EB* series is a somewhat older model that hasn't kept up with the times for quite a while.

I have noticed that the past few weeks - maybe 3 weeks? The EK35/36 flight DXB - NCL has been in an A350 rather than the 777 - but when you try to make a booking only the 777 shows up - as there is no F from NCL, J in an A350 would be preferable to travelling to another airport - does anyone know if the A350 is a permanent fixture on this route please?

I just saw a picture, A6-EWA has now the 3. Generation ICE in Economy. So maybe they retrofitted all the 777-200LR with that now.

First of all, I wish everyone a safe return back home or to your destination.
Thanks, your hint helped me to evaluate a bunch of youtube videos. I think I resolved the puzzle. In the videos I looked for shots of the inflight information system or the front gear, where the tail number is visible too. For the latter I took special care, that it really was the plane actually boarded. Result: Active planes: Manual A6-ECA, CE to CK (8 planes) Electric A6-EBM, BU, BY, CM, CO, CQ to CZ. EBV (retired?) Retired, B series: BB, BG, BL, BN, BQ all had electric blinds. Retired, C series: CB,CD,CL all manual. CN most likely electric, CP not found. Summary It looks like EBW (manual) was indeed an exception in the B-series. In the C-series there's a pattern: ECA to ECL were manual (delivered till Dec. 2008) ECM to ECZ electric (delivered Jan. 09 or later). Thanks for having guided me in the right direction. The cabin was in pretty good shape overall but oh my the tech is so embarrassing. The touch screen worked ok but the tablet and remote were basically useless. |
A6-EEA is currently on its way back from Newquay as EK2558. Expecting this to have Starlink fitted.

A6-EBM has finally been retired from passenger duties and flew to Tel Aviv earlier today. Looks like it’ll be joining A6-EBK at SkyCargo.

That can only be seen as ‘good news’. See my remarks about the A6-EBx frames upthread. Three to go: R, U and Y

I’m sure you are right. They probably need them until the Gulf scenario stabilises. Six A380’s were stored since the war started and some typical A380 services are operated by 77W’s. Once that can be reversed, one would suspect that more 77W’s will be ‘retired’ to SkyCargo.
I wonder why EBM was still sent to Tel Aviv to be converted given the current situation out there? It's no longer the only place that can convert a 777 to a freighter - STS Aviation in Manchester have the capabilities to do so, though so far it's only done 77L's. |
