Cockpit Relief

My nephew asked me last night if a captain or first officer wants to leave the cockpit anytime during the flight, who relieves them?
Years ago if a captain wanted to stretch his legs or go to the toilet a member of the cabin crew would take his place, is this still the case? First time I was not sure what to answer!

With today's aircraft. One pilot is allowed during cruise. Used to be a rule that when only 1 pilot, he had to put on his oxygen mask but not in years

On a flight recently the pilot and FO were hanging out at the F galley, though I don't remember if it was at the same time.

There certainly seems to be a fair bit of traffic in and out of the cockpit on ULH flights. It certainly seemed that way on my recent SFO-DXB.

I initially thought this thread had to do with some scandal, like the CX a couple of years ago.

I think the flight attendant definitely relieves them. If not then it is a self serve.

When I first saw this thread title I pictured Thai masseuses tenderly offering cockpit relief with happy release, whilst warmly chanting "hello tomorrow!" repeatedly....

Keep discovering.

I don't think that the Thai people on this forum find your comment funny.
