I purchased a ticket from PIT-COK via DXB (United and Emirates) on Orbitz. Orbitz confirmed the ticket and gave me the record locators for United and Emirates. The United locator works fine, lets me choose seats yada yada. The Emirates locator does bring up the booking but it says the following...
"Your booking does not have an e-Ticket. Your booking requires payment in order for e-Tickets to be issued to passengers. Please contact your Local Emirates Office to make payment. Your booking will shortly be automatically cancelled if you fail to make payment."
It's only been about 12 hours or so so I'm guessing it is a question of payment going through? Anyone experienced this before? How long should I wait before I should start getting concerned?
Also any suggestions for things to do in Dubai on a 11 and a half hour layover?
thanks.

Same thing happened to me when I used ebookers. It took a couple of days before the EK PNR was active

An Update
An update of the situation. I clean forgot about this problem till yesterday when I looked online and it said the same thing. So I called them up (took me 20 minutes to find a phone number on the website but that's another story) and they said everything was fine with the ticket. It doesn't show up as being paid because it is technically an United ticket and not an Emirates one.

This happened to me too
In my case I had an AA/RJ issued award ticket and they purchased a segment on EK due to their cancellation of the AMM-NBO route, and I was told AT THE AIRPORT that the itinerary (which I had confirmed in advance with all three airlines) did not have a ticket properly issued. This was late at night in Nairobi, Kenya and I was basically S.O.L. had to buy a $xxxx replacement ticket on the spot before check-in closed or be stuck in Kenya. Am currently in the process of trying to get a refund from EK for the out-of-pocket cost but am getting the run around, since EK claims it was RJ's mistake, RJ claims it was AA's, and AA blames EK....
My takeaway here is to be very careful with third-party issued tickets on Emirates, as their systems seem to have trouble with them. I'd be curious if OP was able to resolve his situation and fly without difficulty? And does anyone have suggestions for me?
