Blocking seats
I'm at KUL, waiting for an EK flight, bored, so decided to dig up some info.
Asked the lounge staff if they could block the seat next to me (load is only 240/ 304), and they said yes, no problem.
How it works is they can block whatever seats they want up to 1 hour before departure when the counter closes. After that, once everything is finalized, all seats are released and changes can only be made at the gate.
Of course, I am already in an exit row, which was blocked to begin with and I had to ask the check in staff to ask for the seat to be released. So they just put in a request not to release the middle seat - lets see what the situation is once onboard.

I might just leave the DEL--DXB sector to the OP up gods. It is a day flight at the end of the day and from what I have seen EK Y seems to be fione for a 3.5 hr day flight. I'll also have to save miles for my next visit to DXB in June!!!
