Liquids and transit security

My first post so please be gentle! I also hope that I am posting this in the right place.

I am flying from Heathrow to Brisbane on Emirates in April. I fly to Dubai overnight, have a 4 hour stay in transit and then get my non-stop to Brisbane. I am flying in business class.

I do not know what form transit security takes. So, assuming I get an amenity pack on the first flight, do I need to transfer the liquid contents of the pack into a clear plastic bag to get through such security at Dubai?

Thank you.

You could probably carry an AK-47 through transit security in Dubai as long as you took off your shoes and belt first.

PS. Welcome to FT!

Thankfully, DXB transit security is somewhere I've never had to remove normal-looking shoes or a belt, so long as the metal detector doesn't go off.

Evidently they consider the risk of amenity kits being used as weapons of mass destruction to be low. Our American friends should take note...

Not really. BTW, you don't even need to take out your laptop from your bag

I've never had any problem going through in transit with several amenity kits in tow.

I don't re-call to be doing this liquid in plastic thing recently at any airport (non-US) as far as memory serves

Still an EU requirement.

Indeed it is but not as strictly enforced as before.
