Hi all,

I have a trip coming up in June whereby I have to visit Shanghai and then Frankfurt, originating from KHI. For some reason EK website doesnt give me a price for KHI-PVG-FRA-KHI, just keeps giving me an error 'Seat availability has changed'. I try again and gives the same error.

Anyhow I have worked out another way of getting this done which is by getting two tickets issued

1. KHI - FRA return
2. DXB - PVG return

I can do the other way round as well but turns out more expensive. Anyway, I prefer it this way since it gives me an option to cancel PVG trip (if necessary) without cancelling one whole ticket and re-issuing other

My question is this. When I check-in from KHI, I will first be heading to PVG and but my DXB-PVG is on a different ticket. Will the check-in staff at KHI be able to book my luggage and give me bp all the way to PVG ?

Then when I check in at PVG I have to catch a flight to FRA to catch from DXB but that too is on a separate ticket. Will the check-in agent at PVG be able to book my luggage all the way to FRA ?

Any help will be appreciated.

The answer is very probably yes. When checking in, give the agent both tickets and explain what you want to do.

yes, i have done this kind of thing before, although on the phone they told me it may not be possible the person at the check in counter did this for me...

I've had this before, and the advice given by the EK phone rep was to book as two separate PNRs and everything would be checked through. Even a minimum connection time of 1hr in DXB would be okay.

In the end I got a TA to book it, but they still had to do it as two PNRs.
