A life-partner is here to support the husband. If a husband enjoys himself and leaves the wife alone she won't be happy at all. What does it mean in return: Emirates is shooting into their own legs, the wife is unhappy with the husband and the husband cannot achieve performance because there is a person complaining, "why you left me alone and why I cannot accompany my husband"? - outcome, wife will say: "I don't want to travel with Emirates anymore, why you need that gold card and stay loyal?" - outcome: "customer lost, short-term thinking".
My wife didn't even want to fly with me on Emirates no more, because she thought we cannot stay together at the airport and we might get lost. Now she finally get silver card and I got my gold card, still she cannot get into the lounge with me and of course, this also counts for instant upgrades to first class and business class.
Is it something like a middle-east culture not to treat a wife, a life-partner, with respect?

1) If you want your wife to join you cough up a J ticket for her. The rules (even though changed often) dictate only Y golds allowed in. If you want to bring someone buy/use your miles to upgrade them to a J/F ticket and get yourself in on your Gold card. They don't "owe" your family/friends a lounge invite
2) Why would a company let wives into a lounge for the sake of being wives???!!! Looks like your the one who is differentiating between women and disrespecting unmarried ones maybe?
3) As stated in your other posts, give up your seat for your family and let them sit in the lounge, seems to me your a bit selfish and "light" around the edges that you can't handle a transit outside a lounge.
4) Next time you point fingers at other cultures, I hope your more informed. I don't think any culture in this world wants to see a couple segregated over something as silly as lounge access, lets not forget you have a flight which in most cases amounts to more time spent together than your time on the ground in the lounge. However, if you do decide to throw a tantrum just because your in J/F and book your family in Y thus no lounge access. You should have sorted that out at booking or at check-in so you down grade yourself to be with them.
5) Finally, I don't think Emirates would be bothered with losing your business. Seems like your one of a kind with your train of thought.
Apologies to all others if this is a bit harsh but you should have seen the previous 8 drafts

Mr. Moderator, if needed, please edit as you see fit ^

Mod Comment...
Folks we've had a very busy day on our little forum. For the most part, I've enjoyed the "conversation".
Let's just bear in mind a couple of things. As a group, we've probably just about done the whole lounge access issue to death. The folks at EK must be thinking we're all half mad
I'm happy to let the fireside chat continue on the proviso that we stick to the ToS (Terms of Service). No comments which are of a personal attack in nature, no vaugue and irrational generalisations, and lets leave the cultural differences at the door. Just because someone "started it" doesn't mean you/we have to wade in to finish it.
I'll let everything stand as is. But from this point, stay on topic and stick to the FT guidelines.
Cheers

Info on Hotel
Thanx everyone.
Just so that this may help someone in the future, I checked out Emirate's site online and hidden in there deep there is a procedure for getting Emirates to provide a hotel stay if over 8 hours.
You have to call the local emirates office and then ask for it. Obviously there are restrictions but luckily I was able to secure one for my wife. (Too bad I didn't know this when I was there...I really needed it...was very sick).
THough with in airport lounges vs. outside hotel, I am not sure which she would prefer...but now she has options. Thanx all!
