Booking class K?

I've booked the special fare from the emirates website from Italy to NZ, which by the way is more expensive every year, but then I found out this time my booking class is K, which means I probably have to stay in the airport for the long layover. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to have the long stopover sponsored by Emirates with booking class K?

I am a bit confused; There is a published K fare from Milan and Rome to Auckland , so why do you think that it is a fare that would be ineligable for a hotel if there is a mandatory long connection?

Have you spoken to Emirates to ask about the stopover hotel?

Because K doesn't qualify

This service is offered to passengers holding tickets in specific ticket categories:
Economy Class passengers
If the booking class for the entire outbound or inbound leg of their journey is U, B, M, E, W, R or Y.
And if upon arrival in Dubai, the connection time until the first available flight is more than 8 hours and less than 24 hours.

Oh, I didn't realise that there was a restriction on ticket category; that would explain it. Are there any business class categories that are ineligable ( all 1st seem to be eligable )?

In which case, maybe change the booking to U class if there is no change penalty since , looking at some random dates, the price difference between K and U is EUR50 which maybe cheaper than the hotel cost

Thanks David and Khalid, it reads like if I want to change anything it would incur reissue panalty, but that on top of EUR50 probably still equal to what I would need to pay if I'm to stay in transit hotel or anywhere else... does Emirates allow passengers to pay for the long layover stay in the Millenium Hotel?

If you don't need a visa then you can go out and stay at any hotel you like. There is a Premier Inn and a Holiday Inn Express next to the hotel.

If you do need a visa then your layover has to be more than 8 hours and you can get a transit visa for a fee. Else you could stay at the airport hotel airside.
