EK28 2-Class/3-Class

EK 28 GLA-DXB is normally a 2-class route, however I have noticed that recently a few times it has been operated by a 3-class aircraft, A6-EBK and
A6-EBB being the most recent.

I shall be flying this route very soon, and I am curious to know whether the
F class part of the aircraft is simply left empty on these occasions. It just occurred to me that it might suit EK to give some of the J class travellers a taste of the F cabin in these situations, even if it is only the standard J class service can be offered to them. Or would this be too complicated?

I would be very interested to hear if some of you more experienced EK customers have any information about this.

There have been cases where rows 1 & 2 can be selected by Gold members during OLCI when there is an aircraft swap.

There are also cases where the F cabin is cordoned off.

I don't know about the flight in question, but I'm sure someone who flies this route regularly would know.

I have on a couple of occasions flown on 3 class aircraft on this route EK 27 to Glasgow. I always book 1K if I can and on both occasions had this seat in the First Class cabin. I wasn't Gold at the time. The service was the standard Business Class service.

I think it depends how busy the flight is.

I once selected a 'SkyCruiser' F seat on a 3 class 777 that was operating MAN-DXB (then usually a 2 class). I only got J class food and service, but the bed was nice

Cheers,
Rick
