A bit confused- need help!
Hello everybody!
I'll be flying this winter VCE- HKG, HKG- BKK, BKK- VCE. When I try to book this flights something strange happens. I would like to fly outbound VCE- HKG in J class and inbound HKG- BKK and BKK- VCE in Y class. Will try to upgrade with miles one of the inbound flights. The problem is that everytime I try to book the system automaticly changes HKG- BKK flight grom Y to J class
.
Now, I would like to know... the end of outbound flight is HKG or BKK
. That is important for me to know because i'll need those outbound miles to upgrade. And since it takes time before those miles get to your account.... you know what i mean
question #1: The end of outbound flight is HKG or BKK?
question #2: How long does it take to get miles on your account?
Thank you so much

Methinks....
If no stop in bkk, hkg onward is inbound
if stopping then depends how booked
Why not book two O/Ws If you are splitting class it should make little diff to price, no? Try dummies on expedia.....
Thank you so much

The price will be much higher for 2 o/w.
Look at what the mileage earned section shows you. Is it showing VCE - HKG or VCE - BKK? The other option is book each leg separately with no layover in BKK outbound (as a multi leg trip) then maybe it will work.
Miles usually are credited within 24 hours.

Booking the legs separately still forces HKG-BKK into the outbound sector.
You can force it the other way by doing an open jaw out to HKG and back from BKK. Your miles earning and class choices will be as you want them. You then have to get from HKG-BKK on a single ticket which doesn't bump the price too much and actually gives you another 1,000 miles (Flex in Y). You could even do HKG-BKK on another carrier.

But isn't this a bit strange
? Logic tells me that the outbound flight would be to your final point... when turning back... it would be inbound flight?!?Well, if my miles will be on my account within 24h period then everything will be ok. I'll just enjoy extra flight (hkg- bkk) in F class
.One more question: What are the chances to be able to upgrade (with miles) on BKK- DXB from Y to J class? I'll try to be on A380 flight
