5 Hours in DXB
Hi
I've got a 5 hour layover coming up in DXB, arriving in from BKK and heading to FCO. I'm flying in F but its still too short to get a free hotel. Any suggestions as what to do? Its a long time to hang out in the F lounge but may be my only option.
Thanks

I think 5 hours is ok in the F lounge. If you can gain access to Dubai without a visa then it's also worth it to have a look at somewhere close to the airport.
I've once travelled from MLE-DXB-RUH with having a 5 hour layover in DXB, I was with my wife and she wanted to have a look in Dubai, So we used the chauffeur drive to Emirates mall, and had a quick go at it and returned to the Airport with a taxi.

Who needs a hotel for a 5 hours stop-over in Dubai? Their Business & First Class Lounge in Dubai is already exceeding any other carriers' expectations. Have you ever tried asking at Virgin Atlantic for a complimentary hotel, or Lufthansa German Airlines? I guess, when asking one of those carriers they will probably be speechless...

I believe their Lounge could already make your 5 hours stay at DXB very pleasent! Don't you think so?

While I have never been to the F lounge, seeing the facilities at the T3 J lounge itself I can guess how theF lounge will be..
heck, even the J lounge is way way better than any other lounge I have been to in Europe and Asia.. ( I usually only access business class lounges as I fly Y and get access because of elite statuses)..
The quick ride to dxb may also be worth it but hotel is simply no go even if u willing to pay for it..

Then you have the free 15mins treatment at the SPA, the shoe shine service, and on top of it, the shopping at Dubai Duty Free.
The 5h in Dubai instead will be quite a hassle.

The 5h in the F lounge will fly like nothing. The restaurant where you get the food served produces surprisingly good stuff. The wines are worth the drinking too (they often retail at prices above USD 100 per bottle)....

Book an advance ticket for the Bhuj Khalifa and take an Emirates car. Only problem is that you have to book a specific time so if the flight is delayed you can lose out. I have booked and been 30 minutes late and they have been OK to let us all go up.
