Wink EK Lounge Dubai

I got a new camera, so I have taken this as an opportunity to improve my "camera-skills" at the EK Lounge in Dubai...

I don't know about other users, but I can't see any of your photographs. I can see ones earlier in the thread no problem.

Cool EK Lounge Paris

Just found it in my previous camera, Business Class between Paris and Dubai pretty comfi....

... now I recall the lamb-steaks with some of my favorite champagne, Veuve Cliquot, the widow of Cliquot... has anyone here heard about the story behind that champagne estate?

... that's their main entrance... the Lounge is in the basement and that gives us direct access to the airplane-shuttle-bus, which is great.

To the OP -- I guess we can post photos and info here for all lounges used by EK in its network right and not only EK lounges ? I mean the lounge in CCU is a clipper lounge also used by EK so can we post info on that too ?

Lounge network list online in Skywards site ?

Hello,

I was going thru the lounge access given in the skywards site and I see that its not an updated one..
It says '' Airport lounges at Emirates destinations'' and there are only 3 lounges in Dubai, Jakarta and Peshawar mentioned there..

Then another table stating ''All Emirates passengers can access the lounges below'' and here we have many missing.. The DEL EK lounge is missing and so is the CCU contract lounge..Also don't find DME in the list though I am sure they use a contract lounge there..

Am sure there are others missing too..

Am I looking at the wrong place at the site

abhilife2001 - I'm not sure exactly where you looked - maybe you can give us a link - but I normally look here for a list of EK lounges (which includes DEL):

http://www.emirates.com/english/flyi...es_lounge.aspx

and here for partner lounges, although this list doesn't include CCU either.

Ur links seem much more updated but as u said it does not include CCU either though I used it earlier while flying EK.

I found my lounge list as follows..
Logged into skywards with id and pwd -- under member services there is lounge access and there you have a list which is clearly incomplete.

ATH Olympic Airways Aristotle Onassis Lounge [contracted]

Athens Olympic Airways Aristotle Onassis Lounge

Emirates First/Business Class passengers departing from ATH are entitled to use this lounge. It is located at the far end of the non-schengen departure area, near gate A13 (which is usually the EK departure gate), before security and after passport control.

Food and Beverage

A small choice of alcoholic drinks, including greek Metaxa, Ouzo and Wine, is offered for self-service at the bar.
A coffee machine and a Nescaf machine are available.
A choice of canned beer, canned soft-drinks and juices in Tetra Paks is available from refrigerators below the bar.
A choice of sweet and salty (cold) greek-style snacks and packaged nuts is available
Hot food options include light bites such as spring rolls and stuffed potatoes (read the warning below)

Services
Free internet is available for one hour from the aiport's own WiFi (SSID: WiZ-free)
A small conference room and business center are available

Other
While the lounge is quite small (seating around 50 to 70 people), it is used by a number of airlines. Around departure time of EK106 it is almost empty.
There is an attendant available to collect your waste and to re-fill the buffet.
[Personal opinion] The hot buffet options seem to be heated in a microwave oven (even the deep-fried ones) and they are of inferior quality. Visitors who are hungry should consider getting a bite at one of the bars located next to the lounges.

EK Lounge DUS

Dusseldorf is my home airport and I like to give you some data about the EK Lounge:

The official opening was on 18.05.2009. Before that date EK was using the British Airways Terrace Lounge in Terminal B and the Open Sky Lounge in Terminal C.

The EK Lounge is located in Terminal C, near the EK departure gate.
It has 700 sqm.
Opening times are 12 - 15:00 for flight EK56 and 18 - 21:00 for flight EK58.
The phone number of the lounge: 0211 421 70227.

Some pictures:

In my opinion it is the best lounge in DUS (even better than the Senator Lounge of LH). You can compare it with other EK Lounges in the world.
It is build inside the terminal, above the departure gates. It looks little dark, because no sunlight is comming in trough the windows.
The hot food comes always little late, about 30 to 45 minutes after opening (freshly cooked).
My rating of the lounge is 8/10.

EK Partner Lounge in CMB (Araliya)

In Colombo EK uses the Araliya Lounge for First, Business an Skywards Gold passengers.
This lounge is shared with other airlines like SQ, QR and others.

The lounge is upstairs near the depature gates.
It offers seating for around 80 people.

The food court has a selction of hot meals (mainly sri lankan or indian cousine). Cold snacks and sandwiches are available.
The bar has a limited supply of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.

There are 6 internet terminals located in the lounge.

For reading you can get one or two sri lankan newspapers and several inflight magazines from different airlines.

Some pictures:

EK Lounge in SIN

In Singapore EK has a large L-shaped lounge for First, Business and Skywards Gold passengers.
There are around 120 seats available. Some of them are along the large windows with a good look on a runway.
A seperate business center has more or less 20 internet terminals.
A large food court has mainly asian dishes. Cold snacks and salads and desserts are available.
There are two bars with self service: one at the food court and a second in a different seating area.
The reading material includes magazines and newspapers (UAE, Singapore, Australia).
Before midnight the lounge can get busy, because of the departure of several EK flights.
For first timers, the lounge is not easy to find. Ask at check in where to go.
The way to the boarding gate can be quiet long.

My rating of the lounge is 8/10.

I have no photos I'm afraid as it was an unscheduled stop due to an alleged fire on board.

The EK lounge in Vienna (WIE) is the "air" lounge, shared with several other airlines.

It's relatively small and offers

Free WiFi
fruit juices, tea and coffee
very small selection of finger food
soup and bread
selection of spirits and a couple of wines
seating for around 80 - 100 people
smoking room and toilets within the lounge.

All in all, for a small airport not a bad offering, very friendly staff and a great view onto the apron made it a pleasant place to spend a few hours.
