Emirates seat blocking in J
Can anyone tell me why Emirates blocks off the first row of J on the 330 and 777? I always like being in the 'second' cabin, but on all the flights I checked for my trip this year the whole first row is blocked off. I noticed the same with the last row of J on the A380, and the the same four 'A' seats on the same aircraft.
Are these reward seats?

These are usually the bassinet seats, which is why they are blocked. I'm not sure why they block the entire row, but it's not for reward seats or status pax. One the 380, the last row is probably the worst, so it's done for good reason.

If you call Emirates or Skywards they will usually put you in one but with a warning that you might be moved if they need it for a bassinet traveller.

The mid-Biz cabin A seats (15/16 or so) on the A380 are blocked for unaccompanied minors and release shortly before departure - if you call you can get them at T-72 or 48 or thereabouts.
