500 points
I'm just shy of an award for 57,500 points to upgrade from business to first on DXB/SYD A380. I've already bought this year's 25,000 miles. What's the fatest way to get 500 points in my account within 7 days. I'm not able to take an emirates flight!

When I was in DXB last week I spoke to one of the Skywards staff who are located within the J lounge in T3. I asked about the whole "overdraft" thing when it came to miles and the lady advised me that Skywards will, in certain circumstances, allow a members account to overdraw by 2000-3000 points.
In your case, you can clearly demonstrate a booked revenue itinerary. I would make the request and see what they say - after all, they can only say no. And I would ask more than once if the first response was no.

GREAT IDEAS.
I think that the car rental will take too long to post. I leave next Monday on my trip.
I will call EK And ask about an overdraft. Maybe the folks in the UK call center will be better than in DXB. the people who I spoke to in that call center were downright rude.

Just called and was told that I could just buy 25,500 miles. They would bend the rules. Got someone who was german speaking and very nice. She held the seat and they did the entire transaction for me within 10 minutes. thanked me for my business, asked if she could book the cars for me and was in general a great experience.
they noted overdrafting was not an option.

You'll find that they can be pretty lenient if you can demonstrate forward bookings - so for example if you were at 48,000 tier miles end of April, and you had a trip booked early/mid May - you would probably be fine.
Well done with your award issue. See, chalk another win up for FT!
