EK First / Business class

New to this great world :-)

I´m about to book a trip routing: HAM-DXB-HKG and return PVG-DXB-HAM and have received a very attractive quote from EK based business class at around EUR 2500 all in both ways...

Did check for fun how much 1st class would be on all legs and surprised to learn that this would "only" be an additional EUR 700,- all in...

Now questions: Is 1st class worth the additional EUR 700,- ?

I would say most definitely. Are you sure that's 700 for all legs, both ways?

Yes :-) positive... EUR 700,- even called EK customer service to be 100% sure - who informed that it would be more exspensive to book business on outbound and first on return or vise versa....

Yes, sometimes the cheapest First fare (A) can be cheaper than some of the more expensive Business fares.

I'd say it's definitely worth it with a long-ish transit - the F lounge is much nicer than the J lounge at DXB.

Sometimes I get the same thing, that's why if I try to book in business I go ahead and check the diff to 1st and usually it's pretty low.

I usual take the 1st trip from my hometown RUH in economy and the rest in business or 1st and the proce would be really cheap, if the 1st trip is in 1st it would go sky high.

100% agree to go in First for the extra!

If you can swing to get on the 380 to HKG you will certainly NOT regret it!

The prob is that one stops in BKK, the 777-300er goes straight to HKG with fewer first class passengers.

Welcome to FT, Herget!

Agree with the others: Go with first class.

Thanks a lot for your advices ! :-) I will go for the First Class all the way and will choose the A380 with touchdown in BKK before arriving HKG...

Can any of You recommend best seat-nos to choose based A/C types being:

HAM-DXB EK 060 A/C: 777-300
DXB-HKG (Stop in BKK) EK 384 A/C: A380

PVG-DXB EK 305 A/C: A340-300
DXB-HAM EK 059 A/C: 777-300

TR will of course follow with a lot of pics - however trip is not due until April 11... ;-)

Great choice to upgrade. However, be advised that EK F on A330-200 and A340-300 aircraft is not impressive at all. These aircraft are not equipped with flat beds, even in F.

I just did a trip on the A380. Avoid the window seats in row 1 as these are not as wide as the rest and don't feel as spacious.

Would it not be all suites in F on the A380?
