I wondered if EK Golds can access the lounge when not flying EK?
I am asking since skywards.com states:

Gold - Access to all Emirates and affiliated Business Class lounges.

Silver - Exclusive lounge access to Emirates Business Class lounge at Gate 122 at Dubai International Airport when the member is departing on an Emirates flight.

It doesn't specifically say that Golds need to be departing on an EK flight?

Yes, but do I need to be flying Emirates? Could I enter the EK lounge with my EK Gold card and, lets say, a CX boarding pass?

Are you sure about the metal? Codeshare of EK with another airline using their frame would be also fine, I reckon.

Members travelling on Emirates code share flights operated by other carriers will not be eligible to access the Emirates First and Business class lounges.

I should of course just have consulted the T&C, where it says:

Lounge access is available to Gold and Silver Members travelling in any cabin on Emirates flights.

while http://www.skywards.com/Member_Benefits.aspx?SkinID=2 says :

Access to all Emirates and affiliated Business Class lounges

Knowing that other airlines let their elites enter lounges without flying own airline/alliance (LH SEN, e.g.), I think it was a fair question.

But thanks for the clarification.

Posting miles

How long does it take for EK to post miles earned to your Skywards account after flight is flown?

The system is supposed to post miles anywhere between 8-24hrs after the flight has been flown. It's normally pretty quick but there have been some IT glitches this past week in DXB and I'm noticing flights are taking longer to post.

Also, you need to be aware that if you fly SIN-JFK (and stop over in DXB for a few days) the flights wont post until you have flown the DXB-JFK segment...

I called Skywards today and had them manually post the missing flights - as soon as they did, the tier mile chart updated as well. There's a definitely a glitch at present, so if you are flying (or have flown in the last week), give EK a call and have them manually post the details before they forget, or you do.

Good idea. I am flying again tonight/tomorrow- if the miles don't post by Monday next week- i will give them a ring. Thanks eightblack for the good tip.

Same issue here. Booked a flight for 27th 2 days ago and still not showing. Gave Ek a call and they said they have it in their system. So should be fine. I'll ask them nicely tomorrow to sort out the issue and post my missing flights
