IFEA6-EBB Refurbished and re-enters service
After just over 7 weeks in the hangar, A6-EBB a B777-300ER has been refurbished and re-entered service today, 20 December operating EK045/046 DXB-FRA-DXB. The aircraft now sports Suites in F, lie-flat seats in J and new Weber seats in Y. Note, the IFE on this aircraft remains ICE not ICE digital widescreen. This is the 1st of the 10 B77W sub-fleet that have SkyCruisers in F, deep reclining in J and old economy seats in Y. Although the configuration and layout is similar to the other Suites equipped 3-class B77Ws this sub-fleet of 10 aircraft were in the first wave of B77W deliveries hence do not have over-head crew rest areas installed. As a result these aircraft will not be dispatched alongside those aircraft. As a reminder this sub-fleet of aircraft are registered A6-EBB/EBC/EBE/EBG/EBI/EBJ/EBK/EBM/EBN/EBO. The refurbishment of this sub-fleet will continue during 2011 with at least 5 frames expected to completed by the end of 2011. Although there is unlikely to be a dedicated route for this frame, it is expected to operate the EK380/381 DXB-HKG-DXB frequently. Rgds Emirates777 |

Hi, do you know what is the replacment for the A332?? You said in another thread that the A332 will be phased out starting early2011, so what will replace them?

There are multiple websites we use here to check seat-map configuration. One of the most popular is www.seatguru.com
You can also access a full aircraft seat-map via www.expertflyer.com, which is handy if you are already checking flight/upgrade award availability at the same time. If you know the aircraft type you will be flying on, simply navigate your way to the EK section of SeatGuru, either enter the flight no. or look down at the aircraft listing. Below is a sample. What Are The Best Seats?
This is subjective.
For example, many of us who fly in coach prefer the exit rows on the 777, or rows 68 or 81 on the Airbus. Some avoid the bulkheads due to the fact that this is where the bassinets are fitted and is typically taken/requested by families travelling with kids. One of the gripes I personally have is that Skywards Silver and Gold Members cannot pre-select exit rows. They are allocated on a first come/first served basis. |

What are the best seats in First?
On aircrafts with Suites (1-2-1) such as the 380, 345 and 777, window seats are best for solo travelers and center pairs are best for couples. Avoid row 1.
On aircrafts with SkySuites (2-2-2) such as the 777 and 343, window and aisle pair are best for couples and center aisle seats are best for solo travelers. |
What are the best seats in Business?
On the main fleet (2-3-2), the forward cabin (rows 6,7 on a three class 777) has a more private feeling, though row 6 is less desirable. Row 8 is the last to be served (?), and row 11 has windows missing and noise from Economy.
On the A380 (1-2-1 staggered), the window seats (A, K) are the most private, while center pairs (E, F) are ideal for couples but not recommended for solo travelers due to the proximity of your neighbor. Aisle seats (B, D, G, J) have less legroom and form a shorter bed than the inside seats. They have privacy from the seats beside them, but not from the aisle. Rows 24, 25 are close to the bar at the rear, and it can get noisy there. |

On the main fleet, exit row seats and bulkhead seats have additional leg space, however seat width is slightly reduced. The tray table and IFE screen are in the armrest, and there is no underseat storage. Bulkheads are also designated bassinet locations, so crying babies may be in the vicinity. On the 777 fleet, there are pairs of two seats towards the rear which are ideal for couples.
On the A380, 45 DEFG are behind the staircase and have additional legroom. Seats 68 A, 68 K, 81 A and 81 K have extra leg room and a window, but can be prebooked because they are not exit row seats. 67 B,C,H,J and 80 B,C,H,J are exit row seats with extra leg room and ideal for couples. |
