Needle in a haystack (savers)

Well I was going to make a comment regarding rocking horses but i feared that i would offend some people, so i will settle for a needle in a haystack!!!

Thats how i feel after spending hours looking for saver's when looking at using my points to get a free flight.

On skywards Web site, it says that if i fly to Bangkok return and i can find a saver flight, Then it would cost me 75,000 air miles or else it will be 130,000 air miles for flex flights.

I am looking at going away mid Feb 2011 for 10 nights and i thought booking well in advance i would be able to find a saver.

The lady at skywards could not find any flights during feb and told me to try nearer the time!!!

everything seens all one sided now with emirates!!!!

I guess this topic will have been covered before, so sorry if i am starting another thread on this subject, but i just find emirates very frustating at times.

Malc

Ps, I have 87,000 Miles in Points with another 18,000 due to go on my account later this month after my next trip to Aisa

It is the modern way of screwing people out of their miles.

Bait and Switch

Yup - classic bait and switch strategy. Allow customers to earn lots of miles and then devalue them drastically (130K for a 6 hour flight to bangkok - are you kidding me?!?!). Have written about this before. I have close to a million EK miles that I haven't been able to use ...

But then again - that's the flavor of the day. Heck - even the US Government (or, more exactly, the Fed) is doing it to anyone holding US$...

Nothing modern about it. But it is bad.

thank you for your Comments, I was expecting a lot more people complaining, but it must be me ;-(

Regarding the 130,000 miles, Thats from the UK to bangkok return but would rather get the saver fare if i could find one.
